A recent NPR article showcases the electrospun fiber technology behind Empreva and features interviews with researchers at the University of Washington who have developed it. Researcher Cameron Ball says of the Empreva technology, "Women don't have to apply it far in advance of having sex…So the more quickly it dissolves, the better." Expanding on the quality of the product, he adds, "It's way better than any Egyptian cotton, high-count fabric that you could find. Each thread is about 200 times smaller than a human hair."
